What You’ll Do

Your soulful escape to India's hippie holy town begins in the morning.

Relax on a scenic 3-hour drive to Pushkar in your private AC car as your guide shares legends of how Pushkar Lake was created by Lord Brahma's lotus flower.

Arrive in Pushkar - a small town with a big soul, where hippie cafes meet holy chants.

Start with a peaceful walk around the sacred Pushkar Lake. This lake is surrounded by 52 ghats where pilgrims take a holy dip to wash away sins. Watch priests performing puja, bells ringing, and soak in the serene, spiritual atmosphere. Your guide will explain the story of Brahma and Savitri and why this lake is so sacred.

Continue through the old lanes to the Brahma Temple - the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. Along the way, explore small ancient temples like Varaha Temple and Rangji Temple, vibrant street art, and hidden corners that most tourists miss.

Then dive into the famous Pushkar Bazaar. From world-famous Pushkar rose attar, rose soaps & Gulkand to silver jewelry, leather goods, malas and boho clothing, it’s a shopper’s paradise. Stop for a cup of masala chai at a local stall.

Optional experiences (ask your guide): Visit a local rose farm - Pushkar is called Rose Capital of India. See how they make rose water & attar. Or take a short camel ride in the desert dunes on the edge of town.

Enjoy a delicious Rajasthani lunch at a lake-view rooftop restaurant before taking a final stroll or sipping coffee overlooking the lake.

After a day of spirituality and color, drive back comfortably to Jaipur with drop-off at your hotel.

Good to know before you go

• This is a full-day experience - be prepared for 10-11 hours with ∼6 hours driving. Pick-up is around 8:00 AM.
• Pushkar is a holy town - vegetarian food only and no alcohol around the lake & temples. Dress modestly - shoulders & knees covered, especially for women.
• You will need to remove shoes at temples & ghats - wear slip-on shoes.
• Beware of fake priests at Pushkar Lake: Some people will force flowers on you and demand large donations. Your guide will protect you from this - please stay with your guide and don't accept flowers from strangers. This is why a guide is highly recommended in Pushkar.
• Photography is restricted at some ghats - follow your guide's advice.
• Be prepared for moderate walking in narrow bustling lanes - 2-3 km total.
• Carry some cash - many small shops & cafes don't accept cards.
